Member Videos and Reports From The Front Lines

The objective of the TahitiPetey Foundation and our StarFish Organization is to empower and engage our members to help us find and then share information about the ocean-related issues and workable solutions with one another.

Some members will be content with simply watch videos and earning their SandDollar$ for doing so, while others will actively seek out and bring us the front line intelligence on the issues, through blogs and videos like the one above.

In today's Internet driven society we have access to global information at the click of a mouse. We will consolidate much of the information related to our issues to create a powerful collective online resource of this information and pay our members to view it, with SandDollar$.

This will exponentially increase our collective awareness of the ocean issues, and with any luck, motivate our members to take actions they may not have otherwise ever considered, because until now, until they became a member of the StarFish Organization, they had no idea the ocean had an issue.

The oceans are important on many fronts, and they not only control our weather patterns, they are also our largest natural food resourse. Yet it's difficult getting that message out to someone who lives hundreds of miles away from the sea or those who have never seen an ocean in their lifetimes.

Our goal is to educate them not just on the oceans importance to us, or their beauty and abundance of life, but the fact that no matter where we live, we impact the oceans in a negative way by the senseless, stupid actions we often take.

For one, the unnecessary use of one-time only convenience based plastic products, like water bottles, that last for hundreds of yearr, after they have served us for five minutes. Despite the facts, the bottled water trend continues to grow, and its is not uncommon to see stores with pallets of cased water bottles, wrapped in plastic, sitting in front of their store for less than $5 for a case of 24/16 ounce bottles. Have we lost our collective minds?

We expect our members to also get creative and produce targeted videos that showcase such absurd behavior, to create an outrage about the use of plastics in our food packaging too. Look for the videos that show shelves of plastic salad boxes, and even wine and beer bottles. Some 50 years ago, plastic were the answer to the modern world, today they may will kill it off.

So StarFish members, grab your video cameras and get out in the trenches  to produce some content - we want it. Let's start the outrage, kicks some butts and expose some of these senseless pratices, to put pressure on the manufactures to find solutions.
