Redeeming SandDollar$

This section is still being developed, and our program is not expected to go live until January 2010. But let's assume you understand how our program works and have accrued say a million virtual SandDollar$, our social currency, in your member account and you are now ready to redeem them for travel value. Great!

Our goal is to become the first stop in our members destination vacation travel planning process to save you some real dollars. Our redemption system will be searchable by destination, region, travel brand, type of travel and so on, so it will make sense for our members to check if we have any Travel Partners in the area they wish to visit.

Let's assume you have selected the Island of Maui, Hawaii, and it just so happens we have a dozen resort and car rental brands in our program that covers Maui. Here is what happens next: You call the hotel or resort of your choice from our list, and you can call them anytime. Travel will be restricted in the peak periods of Christmas/New Year system wide, sorry, that's just the deal we have with our Travel Partners..

Let's say they have the 10 days you requested. They give you a rate of $250 a night, and you book the room by giving them a credit card, and then tell them you will be paying with a Tahitipetey Travel Certificate. They note the file and will await your return call with the confirmation code we issue you, the next step, but the reservation has a net value of $2,500 real dollars to you. Pretty cool, right?

Now after you book the room, you go to the redemption certificate page on our site (coming soon) and enter the property code (Note, the property would not appear on our site if the available credit "Nights" for that location were not available). Let's say that Maui property value was set at 100,000 SD$ per night, your 10 nights would cost you the entire one million SandDollar$ you have accrued. This is just an example mind you.

Travel Certificate will cost you a flat fee of $35 dollars, which we collect to administer the process, and after you buy it, we send you and the property a copy of the online confirmation in your name, and that's it. Your room charges are paid in full and we recommend you call to confirm this before leaving. Note: Only the room cost is paid, any taxes, resort fees, parking or other charges normally collected from a paying guest are not included, just the raw room cost.

The process will be the same for all other travel we have in the system. We are currently building our Travel Partners platform and relationships, and of course they want to see us develop a solid membership growth curve, so let's all get this puppy barking and tell a friend to join for free today. Our site has all the tools you need to invite your friends on over a 100 existing known social sites. In the process, we increase awareness of the ocean and social entrepreneur issues, and again, that is our primary purpose here.
